The Meteor Rideau was produced at Ford’s Oakville assembly plant from 1954 to 1976 and was named for the Rideau River in eastern Ontario. The Rideau began as the top-trim level of the Meteor line and was marketed to the Canadian public. The example offered here is one of only 206 produced making it one of the rarest of all 50s Fords.
This spectacular automobile is not only ultra-rare, it has undergone an extensive body-off-the-frame restoration at a cost of over $175,000, and the quality is immediately evident upon inspection of the car. The paint, chrome, interior, engine bay and undercarriage are refinished and detailed to show quality standards.
What makes this Meteor even more special, is the fact that it is well appointed with options and accessories including automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, windshield washers, town and country radio, rear deck antenna, back up lights, fender skirts, continental kit, wide white-wall tires, and dual exhaust properly routed through the rear bumper.
Without question, this is one of the NICEST EXAMPLES ON THE PLANET!!
