The first generation 2-seat Thunderbirds were only built for 3 years and the ’57 was considered by many to be the best of the group. Although Ford was answering to GM’s introduction of America’s Sports Car, the Corvette, these Thunderbirds eventually became known as the “Personal Luxury Car” with Ford placing a greater emphasis on the car's comfort and convenience features rather than its inherent sportiness. The beautiful example offered here was the result of a body-off restoration with body-coloured painted floors and comes with a 312 cubic inch “Y-Block V8”, automatic transmission, power steering, engine dress up kit, backup lamps, fender skirts, WWW tires on Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels and the desirable factory soft top.
